The teams of the “Korean Big Leaguers” have fallen in MLB.com’s power rankings. In particular, the ranking of Bae Ji-hwan (24)’s Pittsburgh Pirates, who have been experiencing a severe slump lately, dropped significantly.
MLB.com released its 30-team power rankings on July 27 (ET). Teams are ranked based on their overall cumulative record and strength of schedule, reflecting their weekly performance. The top five remained unchanged from the previous week. The Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, and Arizona Diamondbacks rounded out the top five바카라.
The rebounding San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds jumped a lot in the rankings. San Francisco jumped from No. 12 to No. 6, while Cincinnati moved up from No. 15 to No. 8. The Los Angeles Dodgers dropped one spot to seventh, the Florida Marlins stayed the same at ninth, and the Houston Astros dropped three spots to 10th.
The Toronto Blue Jays, who are awaiting the return of Hyun-jin Ryu, slipped from 11th to 13th. The San Diego Padres, featuring Kim Ha-seong, also dropped one spot from 17th to 18th. Pittsburgh, the team of Bae Ji-hwan and Choi Ji-man, dropped to 23rd. At one point, the Pirates were in the middle of the power rankings, leading the National League Central, but a recent 10-game losing streak has affected them. The Pirates fell from No. 13 to No. 20 last week and to No. 23 in this release.
Pittsburgh now sits at 35-42 and in fourth place in the National League Central. They are 5.5 games behind the first-place Milwaukee Brewers. Toronto is in fourth place in the American League East with a 43-36 record and San Diego is in fourth place in the National League West with a 37-41 record.
