“Coach Kim Jung-min made me.”
For Hanwha Eagles catcher Park Sang-un, the KIA game in Daejeon on Friday was a meaningful game.
He showed everything in the offense. In the bottom of the second inning, he drove in a run with a bases-loaded single, and then in the top of the sixth inning, with the score tied at 3-3, he caught a ball from KIA’s Jang Hyun-sik. The hit gave Hanwha a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh inning, and he thwarted a stolen base attempt by Kia’s Park Chan-ho, who won the stolen base title last year. Hanwha defeated KIA by one run and gave head coach Choi Won-ho his first winning series since taking over.
“In the power analysis, it was mentioned that the opposing runner (Park Chan-ho) will run as soon as the pitcher lets his guard down a little bit,” Park said after the game. “It’s not that Jung Woo-ram didn’t pay attention, but I could see him running. “It’s not that he didn’t care, but I could see him running,” Jung said of the stolen base situation, adding, “He made a good throw (to third base), and I felt it the moment I threw it. When asked about the huge improvement in her stolen base rate this season, Kim said, “Coach Kim has shaped me. He told me that if I have a good upper and lower body rhythm when throwing the ball, I can throw the ball strongly without using much effort. I thought about that and the results seemed to follow.” He expressed his gratitude. Park Sang-un, who has been training intensively with Coach Kim, said, “It’s almost like a routine. I feel anxious if I don’t do it anymore. I want to make sure that my teammates and the viewers feel secure defensively.”메이저놀이터
Hanwha has recently been playing backups and rookies who have been in the starting lineup less often. Park is part of the postgame specials. “Coach says, ‘You have to get one (hit) every time you go out there,'” Park said, adding that he was pleased with the results of the special at-bats.
