The Doosan Bears snapped a three-game losing streak by snapping the five-game winning streak of the leading LG Twins.

Doosan won 7-4 against LG on Sunday at Jamsil Stadium behind a strong pitching performance from starter Kwak Bin and a fiery bat from Park Kye-beom in the Baseball Korea 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League.

With the win, Doosan snapped a three-game losing streak and improved its season record to 30 wins, 1 loss and 29 draws, maintaining a 5 percent winning percentage and staying in fifth place. LG, on the other hand, saw its five-game winning streak come to an end and dropped to second place with a record of 38-2-24, losing ground to the SSG Landers, who also won on the day.

Doosan starter Kwak Bin was the star of the show. Kwak improved to 5-2 on the season with a quality start, allowing two runs on five hits with five walks and three strikeouts over six innings. Kwak has been struggling with back pain lately, but has returned to form as an ace. The win was especially meaningful because it came against LG ace Casey Kelly.

At the plate, Park Kye-beom stood out. Park went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, including the game-winning hit in the second inning. He came through in the clutch, hitting an RBI single to left in the second inning and a two-run double in the top of the eighth.

LG got another quality start from starter Casey Kelly, who allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts in six innings, but received no offensive help and dropped to 4-6.

In front of a sellout crowd for the fourth time this season, SSG returned to the top of the standings with an 8-5 win over the Lotte Giants. With their second straight win, SSG regained the lead for the first time in three days, pushing past LG, who lost to Doosan earlier in the day with 38 wins, 1 loss and 23 draws.

Lotte, on the other hand, blew a close game due to bullpen woes and fell into a four-game losing streak. With a record of 31-28, they are now one game behind fifth-place Doosan (30-1).

SSG was unable to capitalize on Lotte starter Park Se-woong until the seventh inning, falling behind 1-5. However, the situation changed when Park went down and the bullpen came up in the eighth inning.메이저놀이터

SSG scored seven runs on four hits and four walks against Lotte relievers Kim Jin-wook, Koo Seung-min, and Kim Won-joong. The highlight of the inning came when Jeon Eui-san hit a three-run double off Lotte closer Kim Won-joong with the bases loaded to make it 4-5.

SSG’s fourth pitcher, Lee Rin, pitched one scoreless inning to earn his third win in relief. Relief leader Seo Jin-yong earned his 21st save (one win). Lotte starter Park Se-woong pitched seven innings of three-hit ball and one run, but the bullpen collapsed to deny him the win.
