Brighton & Hove Albion (Brighton) will compete in a European club competition for the first time since the club’s inception.

The Seagulls drew 1-1 at home against Manchester City in the 32nd round of the 2022-23 English Premier League at the American Express Community Stadium on Friday (Sept. 25).

With the point, Brighton improved to 18 wins, eight draws, and 11 losses (62 points) on the season, securing the sixth spot in the league regardless of the final result. In doing so, the Seagulls also qualified for next season’s UEFA Europa League.

In the Premier League, first through fourth place qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, with the two Europa League spots going to the league’s fifth-place finisher and FA Cup winner, and the EFL Cup winner advancing to the UEFA Europa Conference.

However, because Manchester United won the EFL Cup, they are guaranteed at least a spot in the Europa League, so seventh place in the league will be inherited for the Conference League. Similarly, in the FA Cup, Manchester City and Manchester United will face off in the final, so City will qualify for the Champions League and United will qualify for at least the Europa League, so the one remaining ticket will go to sixth-place Brighton.

There are currently three European club competitions: the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Conference League. England fields seven teams each season, and only 19 teams have ever been given the chance to compete in Europe.메이저놀이터

Manchester United have made the most appearances with 30, including 24 in the Champions League and six in the Europa League, followed by Chelsea with 21 (19 in the Champs and two in the Europa), Arsenal with 19, Liverpool with 15, and Man City with 12.

Spurs are the only English team to have played in all three competitions, while Newcastle, Blackburn, Leeds United, and Leicester City have also played in the Champions League.

The Europa League has been challenged by Everton, Fulham, Birmingham City, Stoke City, Swansea City, Wigan, Southampton, Wolverhampton, and West Ham, with Brighton making their 20th European appearance next season.
