NC Eric Peddy, 5.2 innings 6K scoreless pitch
KIA Park Chan-ho, tying score at the end of the 8th inning 2-run home run explosion

The KIA Tigers achieved a dramatic draw thanks to infielder Park Chan-ho’s tying two-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning.

KIA won a dramatic 4-4 draw with NC in the 2023 KBO League demonstration game held at KIA-Champions Field in Gwangju on the 25th.

KIA, which was trailing 2-4, narrowly escaped defeat at the end of the 8th inning, with Park Chan-ho hitting a 142km/h fastball against NC Kim Si-hoon on first base, and scoring a two-run home run.

On this day, the KIA lineup was tied to NC’s new foreign pitcher Eric Peddy’s 5.2 innings scoreless pitching and was unable to score. KIA had only one hit against Peddie.

On the other hand, KIA starter Yang Hyeon-jong fought back, striking out 6 in 4 innings, but allowed 5 hits and allowed 3 runs.

However, when Peddie finished the inspection of the demonstration game and went down the mound, the KIA lineup began to revive. When Park Chan-ho walked on base in the 6th inning, Kim Do-young made up 1 run with a right-handed double at the right time.

In the 7th inning, lead hitter Kim Sun-bin went on base with a walk, and NC Kim Yeong-kyu’s continuous wildfire led Kim Seon-bin’s lead runner, Choi Jeong-yong, to third base.

However, KIA gave an additional point to NC in the top of the 8th inning, and the defeat was dark. Pitcher Lee Jun-yeong allowed Oh Young-soo and Kim Seong-wook to hit consecutively and allowed one run.

At the end of the 8th inning, when the match was close to defeat, Kim Kyu-seong got on base with a hit ball against NC pitcher Kim Si-hoon, and Park Chan-ho, who entered the at-bat, hit a two-run home run to create a dramatic tie. The score was 4-4.먹튀검증

In the ninth inning, the two teams did not hide their desire for victory by posting Jung Hae-young and Lee Yong-chan, who were selected as closers, but the batting line was silent and the game ended with a tie at 4-4.

In the NC lineup, Park Min-woo and Park Se-hyuk posted 2 hits and 1 RBI in 4 at-bats side by side, and in KIA, Kim Do-young scored 1 hit and 1 RBI in 4 at-bats, and Chan-ho Park recorded 2 RBIs with 1 hit (home run) in 2 at-bats.

Even though it was a demonstration game on this day, 5,232 paid spectators entered the KIA-Champions Field and cheered vigorously.
