At the Atlanta spring camp, a total of 66 people will train, including 40 players on the big league roster and 26 invited players.
Park Hyo-joon, who did not even get a chance to train in the big leagues, is expected to face difficulties as it appears that he has been evaluated outside of his full strength.
Park Hyo-joon succeeded in being promoted to the MLB in 2021, and appeared in 23 big league games with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2022, posting a batting average of 0.216, 3 homers, and 14 RBIs, and seemed to be recognized for his potential.
However, Park Hyo-joon was put on standby after the 2022 season and was traded to the Boston Red Sox.
He was also released from Boston and relocated to Atlanta.
The ordeal continued. Park Hyo-joon signed a minor league contract after waiting to be released from Atlanta again when no team announced his intention to recruit him.
Park Hyo-joon will play for the Gwinnett Stripers, a minor league triple-A club affiliated with Atlanta, in the new season.
Park Hyo-jun, whose position has narrowed, recently failed to board the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) national team.
