The English Premier League (EPL) Worst 11 for the 2022-23 season has been revealed.
The 2022-23 EPL season has come to a close. Aston Villa qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL), while Liverpool and Brighton advanced to the UEFA Europa League (UEL). The highly coveted UEFA Champions League (UCL) went to Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle United, with City emerging as the winner of a two-way tie for the title, while Leicester City, Leeds United, and Southampton tasted relegation.
The players have been incredible. Elling Holland won the Golden Boot, breaking the record for most goals in a single season in his first year in the EPL. Harry Kane was on fire, scoring 30 league goals despite Tottenham’s poor form. Arsenal had four double-digit scorers in Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Ødegaard, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Gabriel Jesus, while Son Heung-min was a solid performer with 10 goals and six assists.
In response, global sports media outlet ESPN named its own Best 11. Holland and Kane were joined on the list by Xhaka, Rodri, Alexis Sanchez, Martinelli, Kieran Trippier, Jubeng Dias, Sven Boatman, Luke Shaw, and Nick Pope.
At the same time, we also named our Worst 11. Chelsea, who finished 12th in the league and had their worst season ever, had the most representation with three, while Tottenham also had two. ‘Champions’ Man City also made the cut.
The Worst 11 are as follows Xherdan Shaqiri, Kai Havertz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Calvin Phillips, Jonjo Shelvey, Stuart Armstrong, Clément Langlais, Liancoeur, Harry Maguire, Mark Cucurella, and Ilan Mellier.
Maguire was heavily criticized. “United captain Maguire has been so poor this season that he has been reduced to a non-factor. He has started just seven league games, behind the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw.”메이저놀이터
Hicharisson and Lange have also struggled. He arrived at Tottenham with high expectations after finishing second in the club’s record books, but he failed to establish himself as a regular starter. He was rumored to have fallen out with manager Antonio Conte during the season and scored just one goal in the league. The ‘loanee’ was given regular game time, but his shaky defensive performances led to criticism alongside Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.
Chelsea are lucky to have only three players on the list. Aubameyang has scored just one goal in the league, and Haberz was tasked with leading the Chelsea attack, but he hasn’t lived up to expectations. Kukurela was a big splurge for Chelsea, but he never looked like a threat at Brighton.
