Denver has won its first game in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals since its inception. The Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat 104-93 on Sunday in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series to determine the NBA champion for the 2022-2023 season. The Nuggets were led by “Triple Doubler” Nikola Jokic (pictured). Jokic scored a game-high 27 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 14 assists. With the win, Jokic extended his single-season playoffs (PO) record for most triple-doubles in a season to nine, set on March 23 in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
